What are “Break Dish” and “Reverse Dish”?

What are “Break Dish” and “Reverse Dish”?

Break Dish: when a Player breaks off and completes a clearance without allowing the opponent to visit the table.

Reverse Dish: a Reverse Dish is when a player clears the table on their first visit to the table after their opponent’s break-off shot.

How do we decide who breaks?

From 2023, under the new international rules, players will “Lag” for break. The decision was made that for the 2023 season the 1st player in your block of 6 will lag for the first frame, then players will alternate thereafter to break, up to and including game 6.

For Game 7, players will Lag again, and games 8 to 12 will alternate who breaks.

For both the Captains and the Vice Captains games, the home team will always break.
